Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular Rehabilitation in Mississauga and Oakville – People with vestibular disorders often experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance. Symptoms due to vestibular disorders can impact the quality of life and all aspects of daily living. It is an exercise-based program primarily made to reduce vertigo and dizziness, gaze instability, and/or imbalance, and falls.

The most common symptoms treated in Vestibular physiotherapy are Dizziness and Vertigo. The term Dizziness means (lightheaded, Swaying, disoriented etc.) whereas Vertigo is a specific type of dizziness defined as the illusion of movement occurring in the environment.

Vestibular Rehabilitation requires recommended screening such as History, Rapid Head Thrust test, and the Dix Hallpike test. Only 11% of all providers assessed patients for BPPV using Dix Hallpike test in a regular clinic set up. Sometimes this leads to improper screening for vestibular Impairment based on available recommended practices, likely contributing to under diagnosis and treatment.

Curezone Physiotherapy provides the people of Mississauga with the licensed and fully trained therapists providing proper assessments and treatments based on their condition. Our registered physiotherapists are trained in treating various Vestibular Conditions and approach to treatments are very different than musculoskeletal conditions. They use different alternate Testing and treating methods if the regular testing ways are contraindicated especially VBI, back, Hip mobility issues.
